The 2nd China Digital Earth Conference Successfully Held in Beijing

The 2nd China Digital Earth Conference (CDEC) was successfully held in Beijing from September 6th to 8th, 2021. This conference was co-organized by the International Society for Digital Earth and the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Being a hybrid conference, the 2nd CDEC organized 38 sessions, around 220 oral presentations, and attracted about 600 experts and scholars from more than 60 research institutes and universities in China and abroad to attend.

With the theme of "Digital Earth towards Sustainable Development", the 2nd CDEC focused on Digital Earth theoretical innovation, cutting-edge technologies, application demonstration and industry development. Attendees fully exchanged their thoughts and research results in Digital Earth relevant fields, and discussed the important role of Digital Earth in implementing the UN 2030 Agenda of Sustainable Development Goals.

Through peer-review by the academic committee, the conference selected 5 Best Paper Awards and 20 Best Youth Presentation Awards. The 3rd CDEC would be held in 2023.
