International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) is a non-governmental international academic organization to disseminate the vision of Digital Earth. Its mission is to benefit society by promoting the development and realization of Digital Earth. Established on 26 May, 2023, the International Society for Digital Earth - Young Scientist Innovation Network (ISDE-YSIN) aims to empower young scientists in the field of Digital Earth, promote the development of crucial concepts and innovative technologies of Digital Earth, and contribute to the global sustainable development by using digital technologies.
The ISDE and ISDE-YSIN have sponsored the Youth Innovation Forum on Digital Earth annually since 2023. The 1st Forum in Beijing, China has attracted not only prominent digital earth experts and scholars within China and beyond, but also those applying digital earth technologies to sustainable studies. The 2nd Forum will be held in Hong Kong, China in December 2024. This annual event provides a unique platform for effective communication and interactions among forum participants, eventually building new ties for international collaborations. In light of these developments, we are calling for proposals to host the 3rd Youth Innovation Forum on Digital Earth in 2025.
In general, the forum organizer is responsible for the financial arrangement, forum site rentals, securing keynote speakers and hosting a dinner reception, as well as other forum related logistics. The ISDE and ISDE-YSIN will also offer any kinds of assistance, if needed. As an option, the forum organizer may offer a field trip and publish a forum proceeding.
The proposal should be 3 pages or less in length and should include the following items:
- Proposed forum site and a brief description of the site
- A theme with two or three intended sessions that reflect the theme
- An organization structure of local organization committee
- Proposed forum dates with at least two time slots
- A budget and methods of balancing the budget
