Cuizhen (Susan) Wang

Cuizhen (Susan) Wang a Professor of Geography at University of South Carolina, USA, with expertise in Bio-environmental Remote Sensing and Digital Earth. She received her Ph.D in Geography in 2004 from Michigan State University, and Ph.D in Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing in 1999 from the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. Her research areas include optical/radar synergy, satellite time-series analysis and a wide spectrum of environmental applications such as bioenergy, tallgrass prairies, forest fire, marsh dieback, coastal flood, and more recently, drone technologies for coastal resilience. Dr. Wang is a Council Member of the International Society of Digital Earth. She is also a U.S. Geospatial Intelligence Foundation (USGIF) Subject Matter Expert in Remote Sensing and Image Analysis, and the founding Director of the International Center of Excellence on Big Earth Data for Coasts (ICoE-Coast), and on the Board of Directors of the newly established South Carolina Interagency Drone users Consortium (SCiDUC).
