The Symposium was jointly organized by the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society (IEEE GRSS) Moroccan Chapter, the International Society for Digital Earth - Young Scientist Innovation Network (ISDE-YSIN), and Chouaib Doukkali University, Morocco. At the opening ceremony, Dr. Alessandro Annoni, President of International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE) and Prof. Riadh Abdelfattah, MENA GRSS Global Activities Liaison and former GRSS ambassador in Tunisia, delivered welcome remarks. Throughout the two-day event, attendees witnessed 16 oral presentations and 7 poster presentations, alongside a specialized online training session on GeoAI for remote sensing using KNIME software by Dr. Lingbo Liu from the Spatial Data Lab at Harvard University. Noteworthy were the 6 oral presentations delivered by ISDE-YSIN members, encompassing topics such as geospatial artificial intelligence applications, cartography, heritage site preservation, and sustainable, equitable city development, etc., whose presentations effectively linked the research outcomes in their respective countries to the broader networks of ISDE and IEEE.

The ISDE - Young Scientist Innovation Network (ISDE-YSIN) was launched on May 26, 2023 with the aim of empowering young scientists in the field of Digital Earth. The Network organizes the conference series Youth Innovation Forum on Digital Earth annually, and the ISDE - Lecture on the Digital Earth Youth Innovation quarterly each year with the objective of building a youth-driven academic sharing and collaborative platform with international influence. The 1st IEEE GRSS/ISDE-YSIN Symposium on GeoAI for Remote Sensing Data Analysis built upon the serial ISDE Lecture on the Digital Earth Youth Innovation, and encouraged greater collaboration and communication to facilitate the exchange of research insights and ideas among members of both IEEE GRSS and ISDE-YSIN.

The 2nd Youth Innovation Forum on Digital Earth, themed "Digital Technology Innovation Driving Sustainable Development", will take place on 4-7 December, 2024 in Hong Kong, China. The Forum is organized by the International Society for Digital Earth (ISDE), The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and International Research Center of Big Data for Sustainable Development Goals (CBAS), co-hosted by ISDE-YSIN, Institute of Space and Earth Information Science (ISEIS) of CUHK and Hong Kong Young Scientist Association (HKYSA).
